James Stewart Winaught


James S. Jim Winaught, 81, of Morgantown, W.Va., passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, with his loving wife by his side. He was born February 14, 1941, in Uniontown, PA., a son of the late Rafford C. and Marie M. Fox Winaught. He was a member of Mt. Morris Gospel Tabernacle where he held various positions and was a former member of the choir. Known for his kind and compassionate nature, he was always ready to lend a hand. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and above all, his family. He never knew a stranger and will always be remembered for his invitations to come to worship. He will truly be missed, but his legacy of love will live forever in many hearts. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Norma Dean Winaught and his sister, Barbara Smith Franke. Surviving him are his wife, Jeannette Lemley Winaught, a brother, Rafford Ray Winaught and wife Rose; a son, James N.Winaught and wife, Mary Lou; step-daughter Nancy Rittmann and husband Michael; step-daughter Tina Sapp and husband Tom, step-son Timothy Cox and wife, Bambi and many loving nieces and nephews. He is also survived by grandchildren Eric Winaught, Erin Winaught, Nicholas Sapp, Christopher Sapp, and Timothy Sapp and especially his two great-granddaughters Emilee Marie Sapp and Brinleigh Dawn Sapp who he loved beyond measure. Friends and family may gather from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 6 at Dering-Henson Funeral Home, 156 Foundry Street, Morgantown, WV 26505. A Christian service will be held at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Samson Samuel officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1521 Goshen Road, Morgantown, WV 26508 In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Mt. Morris Gospel Tabernacle, 103 School Road, Mt. Morris, PA 15349.
